Hi, I'm enjoying your game but I'm completely stuck. I don't know if you're still around since it's been years since the last comment, but I can't figure out how to progress at all.

I killed the Jackal and got the Barbash, which let me get into the cave and get some neat loot, but none of it seems to help. All my paths are blocked by boulders or the stone block with a keyhole. I have not found any keys nor ways to get past the boulders. I've run all over the small area I have available repeatedly to no avail. Send help!

Hey! haha for you or anyone else, I think you had to go back to town after the jackal fight. An NPC should be around to give you a white key

Thanks for the tip! I'm glad itch.io sends email notifications for replies or I would probably have never seen this. I'll doublecheck the town if I get in the mood to try again.

Hm, I'm a little confused.
Ypu see I finished the game (defeated the final boss).
But there still where places on the map where I couldn't.
To be precisely:
top left corner of the map:
I could walk the way up but not the way to the left (to the cabin on the left) since an invisible barrier is blocking me there.
Around the same area, a bit to the right there are 2 tempels above one another. Found the passage way to the one above, but not the one below. It is only shown on map, but I neither see the temple nor any way to get there.

And then there are the areas with the traffic coins.
Thought that i would sooner or later get an item to get rid of them.
But before I realized the game was already over O_o

Yeah, and I'm also wondering about the cristal pick thing. Since it was in that certain kind of chest, I thought that it must be a quest item, like the bush one and the others before.
But couldn't find any way to use it except for creating certain stuff at the kettle :-(

Can you give me some hints there for this stuff?

or is the game just not finished there in these areas?

If you got the item "Xodius" you made it to the end. Otherwise, there are areas blocked with cones which were planned, but never built. The crystal pick is another item that was not fully implemented. Admittedly, I haven't worked on this game for a couple years and I'm not sure if they will be completed.

Okay, made it a lot further in the game.
Is a really cool game.

2 tips:

1. Did you finally finish that really hard boss? Great!
but your friend sucked as usual and now you are left alone? But he was too good to die and all the other remaining people suck compared to him? you would never find a partner as good as he was ever again?
Then don't worry any further!

Since I found a way to solve that problem!
Here's what's important to know what happens when you die:
You are brought back to the last fire place.
All the bosses you killed before your death are still dead and won't respawn as one might expect.
You also keep all the equipment you got between the last save and your death (especially also the stuff from chests).
Your companion is back to life if he died before you died!
And other stuff.

Which brought me to this strategy:
Save on a camp fire.
Go fight the boss.
Your friend unfortunately dies during the fight.
Win the fight.
Take the stuff from the chest.
Now attack some creature or something to die .
Doesn't matter how but dying is your next step.
I'm dead serious here (#Puns4Days).

Really, before doing anything else:

DONT SAVE BEFORE DYING FIRST!!!

This is totally counterintuitive since normally you want to save your hard earned progress but thanks to the characteristics of the game it works.

Saving would actually manifest your friend's death for eternity.
But by dying before your next save, you die, are revived at the last camp fire together with your friend but still keep all the stuff and the bosses are still defeated!

So in short:
Save on camp fire.
Fight boss and win. Take stuff from chest.
Go die before doing anything else!
Now (AFTER YOUR DEATH) Save on the camp fire next to you.
Now you are free to go and do whatever you want again.
Only thing you might have to do is return to the boss' area. Boss is dead as mentioned but you lost your orbs there when you dead, so go pick them up again.

So instead of being forced to decide between sacrificing your friend and doing the hard boss fight again, this method is a bit longer but gets only the benefits of both.

Friend still alive AND the boss is dead and you have it's loot!

2. tip:

Did you make it to the guy who sells only a chield and a bow but for like 16000, so insanely high?

Then be happy, my friend, since your money problems are now over forever.

Since the simple fact that the shop 2 screens above sells warp tickets for 40 and the expensive guys buys them for 50

So 4 steps:
Go to the shop 2 screens north.
Buy as many warp tickets as possible with your current money.
go to the expensive guy.
Sell all your warp tickets.

Rinse and repeat. :-)

For every time you do these 4 steps , your money increases by 25%!

So if you need a method to grind money quite fast, this is it!

Started with around 10000 start money and after doing these steps like 5 or 6 times, I had 71000.
Which took like 2 minutes.

walking north.
buy.
walk south.
sell.

Actually really easy. :-)

Hm, just wondering about some things:
I made it until the first boss through basically avoiding most enemies.
Defeating him would require me a big amount of heal items or better equipment.
The last one is not availlable and healing stuff costs a lot of money.
And the only money source I see is selling flowers. (Or destroying stuff which takes even longer)
I can rise the friend level of an npc by talking to him over and over again.
And I can actually kill them with my weapons.
Doesn't matter either way.

So now I'm confused if there is any easier way to "get better" except grinding flowers to buy heal items (which takes an insane amount of time)?

Since as far as I can see, killing the boss is the only way to unlock new areas and stuff.

I'd say fighting monsters to grind levels is the primary way to get stronger. And you can craft potions! Fill empty phials at water sources and combine with some red mushrooms and a blue flower at any crafting pot. There are a lot of recipes that you unlock by having the items in your inventory. You can also collect apples from trees, but they don't heal as much. Sorry for the late response, hopefully this is a good tip for others as well.
